Transitioning Outfits from Summer to Fall: Blouse + Pants

Earlier this week we covered how to transition a summer skirt and a summer dress into a more fall appropriate look. Today we’re tackling how to style a top/blouse + pants outfit for the chillier weather.
As you can see, the color scheme of this look is pretty light and summer-y, but I don’t care. I wear blush and white year round. Therefore, I decided to keep the “light colored” theme going by pairing it with a beige cardigan and beige booties.
Cardigans are perfect to pair over anything to keep you warmer, just like a blazer or leather jacket. Whether it’s a chunky cardigan or a lighter cardigan, it’s a fall/winter staple! I personally prefer a cardigan that is at least hip-length or lower, instead of a shorter/cropped cardigan. I feel that it elongates a figure better. Plus, it covers more of your body so you can keep warm!

Booties are another fall/winter staple. Whether it’s with a heel or without, it keeps your feet warm while looking cute. Plus, I feel like heeled booties are a lot easier to walk in compared to a classic pump/stiletto shoe.

To summarize this “Transitioning Outfits from Summer to Fall” series, you really only need 5 pieces to help you take your outfits into the fall/winter season:
1) a blazer
2) over-the-knee boots
3) a leather jacket
4) a cardigan
5) a pair of booties
