Things I Purchased Lately – Autumn 2023

I don’t know about you, but I love seeing what people buy. I’m not sure if it’s to satisfy my own itch to go place an online order while trying to be a less wasteful consumer or just out of my own curiosity about what items others are finding worthy enough that they absolutely need to own it. But I love it. And if you’re reading this post, you probably love to see what’s in other people’s carts too πŸ˜‰ So today I thought I’d share with you what I personally have purchased the last few months and whether or not I regret that purchase.

LITTLE TRUNK BAG

I’m a huge sucker for Kate Spade, and have been for years. It is just such a fun brand with so many adorable, whimsical (although most times impractical) bags. So when I saw this cute little trunk bag, I fell in love. I eyed it for months to see if the price would go even lower, until I saw it in person in September and could not go home without it. No regrets.

THRIVE MARKET

I’ve had a Thrive Market membership for quite some time now and would highly recommend if you’re looking for a retailer that specializes in selling a lot of cleaner, more organic, better-ingredient alternatives to many different household items and even groceries. Plus, many times the prices on Thrive Market are slightly better than prices for the same items in stores like Target and Whole Foods.

I’m going to run through what I bought here quickly:

Organic Hand Soap – Regret this one, I’m not a fan of how it leaves your hands feeling during the wash process.

Organic Body Lotion – Love it. It glides so smoothly on your skin and doesn’t feel sticky or icky.

Organic Belly Oil – Love it. I haven’t used any others yet to compare this product to but I’m happy with it so I don’t feel the need to try to look for other belly oils to purchase later. (FYI, if you didn’t know yet, I’m pregnant πŸ€ͺ)

Organic Belly Butter – Love it. Except I’ve been preferring the oil mentioned above for my belly and use this belly butter as a hand cream LOL I just love the silky texture of it on my hands, and it’s suuuper moisturizing.

Rosey Laundry Detergent – I like it, and repurchased it several times but I wish the bottle was larger. I’ve switched over to a cleaner laundry detergent a long time ago. To me, it feels like it gets the job done just as well as a traditional Tide or Gain laundry detergent. But I’m also not totally committed to this Rosey brand. I’m currently using the Molly Suds powder detergent. Personally I don’t see a difference in quality between the two. This is going to be an awful review because I don’t hate either of these detergents, but I also don’t feel passionately in love with either detergents, and I can’t put my finger on why but that’s just how I feel.

DEODORANT

I’ve been using and loving the Kopari deodorant for years, but lately I’ve been hearing a lot about this Salt + Stone deodorant that is also supposed to be a great natural alternative. So I decided to give it a try in September. I love it more than the Kopari one now. No regrets with this purchase. I feel like it does an even better job at preventing that onion smells!

CURIOUS ELIXIRS MOCKTAILS

I decided to give this brand a try because it had much better ingredients compared to other mocktail alternatives on the market and ordered this variety pack. Big regrets. They weren’t that tasty. You’re better off making your own mocktails.

ULTA

Kenra Hairspray – Love it. The hold is great and it still keeps your hair soft rather than that weird crunchy feeling.

NYX Eyebrow Pencil – Love it. Someone on IG recommended it to me and I’ve been repurchasing for a while now. It’s literally the Anastasia Brow Pencil but half the price.

SEPHORA

Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask – Obsessed. Can’t stop repurchasing. It is so thick and moisturizing. I especially love it as a nighttime moisturizer. Now that I can’t use my medical grade skincare (🀰🏼), I also started using this jet lag mask as my daytime cream and it’s been great. They also sell it in a mini size if you want to try it out without committing to the full size. Makes for a great nighttime hand cream too!

Act+Acre Dry Shampoo – Love it. I’ve only purchased this one bottle so far but I plan to repurchase once it runs out. I’ve been using the Moroccan Oil Dry Shampoo for years, but I know there’s a lot of controversy now over aerosol dry shampoo products being cancer-causing so I’ve decided to stop using it (very sad about this as I loved this one). I picked up the Act+Acre one as a more clean alternative and have been very happy with it so far. This one bottle has also lasted me 2 months now, which I consider pretty good.

Briogeo Dry Shampoo – I purchased this one to test as well, another more clean alternative. I’m still testing this one and want to use it a few more times before I make my final decision.

Kiehl’s Vitamin C Serum – I’ve used the Skinceuticals Vitamin C serum for years and love it. However, when Victoria (whom I adore on IG) shared that she recommends this Kiehl’s one, I thought I’d give it a try myself too. So far I’m undecided on the Kiehl’s Vitamin C serum. I think I still prefer the Skinceuticals one more, but I want to test the Kiehl’s Vitamin C for longer to really make my decision.

I also purchased a bunch of items during the end of October Sephora Sale but this blog post is already way too long so I’ll just do a quick rapid fire list: another Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask, cat eye stamp (plan to return it though, not in love), Hourglass Blush in the color Mood Exposure, face brush, Anastasia eyeshadow palette, and a few other things I bought in store and can’t remember off the top of my head.

CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS

These bow ornaments were too cute not to buy!!! My sister fell in love and placed an order for them too πŸ˜†

Crate & Barrel always has a gorgeous selection of ornaments. I restocked on a few and purchased the gold picks, gold balls, net balls, and gold stars.

TEXTURED VASE

I had to take this gorgeous textured vase home with me. LOVE! It comes in 2 different sizes too.

MARBLE TRAY

I loved that this marble tray only had a little lip on 2 of it’s four sides. I’m currently using it as a little tray under my cats’ food bowls. No regrets with this purchase. I’m actually thinking of getting a second one to go under my cats’ water bowls.

L’AVANT

I love their stuff so much. It’s a cleaner brand as well (apologies for how many times I’ve mentioned “clean” in this blog postπŸ™ˆ!) and all their products just feel so luxurious to me! I love using their dish soap and multipurpose cleaner specifically.

DIOR

Last but not least, I purchased a few makeup goodies to try from Dior. This blush in the shade “Rosy Glow” has gone viral and I wanted to try it myself. I also needed a new bronzer so thought I’d try this one. I’m still testing both so I can’t quite confirm whether I love it or regret it.

_______________

Ok I may have gone a bit overboard with this post. I did not realize it would be this long… Maybe I need to break this series up into a monthly blog post instead of a quarterly blog post because I didn’t even go into anything purchased on Amazon 😬

I hope you at least had a good time reading through my list of items! I’d love to know what items you purchased recently, and whether you have been loving or regretting them! Be sure to share them in the comments below so other readers can also satisfy their curiosity πŸ˜‰ or send me a DM on instagram!

P.S. I hope you enjoy this photo of Theo having a moment of ultimate comfort.
