If you’re into skincare, you’ve probably heard about how important it is to apply eye cream. However, are you applying it properly so that you can achieve the best results from your application?
The area around your eyes is the first area to show signs of aging. It’s also the most delicate and thinnest layer of skin on your face. So you want to make sure to keep it moisturized so that it stays nice & plump.
Make sure you are following these simple steps in order to apply your eye cream in the best way for optimal results.
Depending on the eye cream you are using, it will be either heavier or lighter than your other skincare products. Make sure you are applying your skincare products from lightest texture to heaviest texture. So do not apply your lighter eye cream after a heavy night time moisturizer or before a lightweight serum. If your eye cream is heavy, then do apply it after a lighter moisturizer.
The tip of your ring finger is the softest out of all the other fingers. Because the area around your eyes is so delicate, you want to apply your eye cream with the softest part of your hand.
Put a pea-size amount of eye cream on your ring finger and pat 4-5 dots around your eyes going from the outer corner (goodbye crows feet!) to the inner corner of your eye. If there’s any cream left on your fingertip, add it to the bone right under your brow to keep that upper skin from sagging as you get older. You want to make sure that you pat the eye cream in gently. Under no circumstances should you be pulling at the skin around your eyes!
Give the eye cream a minute or two to settle into your skin for optimal results, before you begin to add anything else on top of it.
For an added benefit, store your eye cream in the refrigerator to keep it cold. The cooling sensation from the cold eye cream will help with any puffiness or swelling when you’re applying it in the morning/evening.
I’ve been using the VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream for about 2 months now and have really been enjoying it. Applying an eye cream as part of my night time skincare routine has been really helpful for me in combatting dry skin under my eye and keeping the area smooth for when I put makeup on.
This particular T2 Oxygen eye cream is made to regenerate damage skin cells around your eyes, which helps keep the area moisturized and prevent aging.
One of the key ingredients in this eye cream is evening primrose, this helps the blood around your eyes circulate and keep your eyes from looking tired, which is definitely something you want when you wake up!
I shared my other skincare products that I love in this skincare routine post.
Have you been using eye cream? If so, I want to know which eye cream you are loving!
