Sephora Must-Haves – Spring 2020 Sale

I don’t want this post to come off tone deaf or anything of that sort since I know that we are currently in a pandemic and a lot of people are currently struggling financially. I am personally trying to shop as little as possible right now too since I don’t know what the status of our economy will be in the next few months. However, I asked you on my instagram this morning if you wanted to see this type of blog post and 28 of you said YES while only 2 people voted NO on my poll. So this blog post is for the 28 of you who voted YES, LOL!

MUST-HAVE ITEMS

These are all of my holy-grail items that I have been using for as long as I can remember and have repurchased multiple times.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum

I have been using this serum for roughly three years now. I’ve talked about it in my skincare routine post back in 2018 and will continue to talk about it because I truly notice a difference in my skin when I don’t use this serum. I’ve been running low on it since end of December so for the past 3 months I’ve been using it maybe once a week instead of daily because it’s a pricey product and I just felt bad spending that money. But now that it’s sale time, I put it in my shopping cart and can’t wait to start using it daily again. My skin has been “meh” that past 3 months and it’s because I’ve stopped using this serum daily.

Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb

I love this aqua bomb as a daytime moisturizer. Like the Estee Lauder serum, I’ve been using it for years and haven’t found a daytime cream I like more. It’s lightweight yet oh so moisturizing. I ran out of this one recently too and have been testing out the Tatcha Water Cream in the meantime, but even the high-and-mighty Tatcha Water Cream does not compare to my Belif Aqua Bomb.

Dior Forever Foundation

This foundation is another goodie I’ve been using for years now. I currently have three different shades of it in my bathroom for whenever I self tan. It’s lightweight, so you don’t even feel like you’re wearing foundation. Some days I’ll rub my face the wrong way because I just forget. Plus, it’s one I can wear all day and not feel like I need a touch-up.

Laura Mercier Setting Powder

I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried that many other setting powders to really compare. But honestly, after trying this one, I don’t really care to try other powders because the Laura Mercier setting powder is just SO GOOD. I know that when I apply it, I don’t need to reapply it or do any touch-ups throughout the day.

Kerastase Purple Shampoo

I mentioned this purple shampoo in my post about my haircare routine a year ago and I’ve been using it ever since. And if I’m being completely honest with you, I haven’t repurchased this shampoo. Why? Because this one bottle has lasted me soooo long that I haven’t needed to (I use it about once a week)! But once I do run out of it, I’ll 100% be repurchasing it because it’s the best purple shampoo I’ve ever used. Kerastase in general has amazing shampoos actually. Sure, they are pricey, but it lasts forever.

Kopari Coconut Deodorant

I’ve mentioned Kopari on my insta-stories many times and in this blog post, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. I’m literally OBSESSED with this brand and this deodorant. It keeps me dry and smelling good throughout my day and throughout my workout. I’ve also tried the Charcoal one that Kopari offers, but that one was no good so don’t get the charcoal one. Fortunately, you can shop this deodorant on sale via Sephora now. However, if you want to save 15% on any Kopari goodies once the Sephora sale is over, shop KopariBeauty.com and use my code ALENAV_YBE271 at checkout.

NICE-TO-HAVE ITEMS

These are items that I love and use, but they are also items that you can live without so therefore they are not part of my must-haves list.

Beauty Bio Microneedling Tool

I love my microneedling tool, but it’s definitely one of those things that I don’t really need. Yes, it’s improved my skin and skin texture, but my life was also fine when I didn’t own it. If you’d like to learn a little more about microneedling, I recently wrote a blog post all about it.

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Balm

I love this lip balm and use it in my nighttime routine. It’s too pricey to use all day every day, so I only use it before bed. Plus, it’s much for effective than the highly coveted Laneige lip mask.

Clarisonic Mia

I’ve only started using the Clarisonic a year ago and, although I don’t want to go back to my life without it, it’s not something that is a 100% needed in my life. Yes, it washes 100% of the makeup on my face, but I washed off 100% of my makeup without it back in the day too. However, I do continue to use it because I love that the brush helps to scrub my makeup off without me having to put much effort into the process and that it gently exfoliates my face daily.

Summer Friday Masks

I love my Summer Fridays masks! They are some of my absolute favorites! The Jet Lag mask is super moisturizing. I don’t use it on my face but I love using it as a hand cream every night. The Overtime mask is great for exfoliating your face. Although you can easily exfoliate your face with my fave DIY recipe here and save $44. The R+R mask is perfect if you want a glow.

Tatcha Vitamin C Serum

A vitamin C serum is so good for brightening your skin up. I’ve used the Tatcha Vitamin C serum and loved it. I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my skin. Many estheticians recommend that you use a vitamin C serum in your skincare routine (and I personally think you should too), but if you’re tight on budget and young, I think you can get away with not using it.

Perfume

The sale is a perfect time to get perfume, whether it’s for you or a gift for someone. Mother’s day is in a few weeks so if you’re planning to get your mom perfume, right now is such a good time to do so since you can save on them. My top 3 perfumes include Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming, Gucci Bloom, and YSL Libre.

WHAT I PURCHASED

Now let’s talk about what I added to my cart and bought from this sale.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum: Like I mentioned above, I ran out of this serum so I needed to repurchase it.

Laura Mercier Setting Powder: Again, like mentioned above, I love this stuff. I’m running low on it so repurchased it.

Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb: Also ran out of this so repurchased it.

Evian Facial Spray: My sister uses this to set her makeup daily and her makeup always looks flawless so I decided I needed to try this on myself.

Drunk Elephant Vitamin C Serum: I ran out of my Tatcha Vitamin C serum so needed to repurchase one. I heard that the Drunk Elephant Vitamin C serum has a lot of the same ingredients as the Skinceuticals Vitamin C serum (which is the best on the market, but also a million $$$ so can’t justify that) so I want to try it.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm: I love my Summer Fridays masks so I want to try this lip balm that’s been all over my instagram feed.

Summer Fridays Gel Cleanser: Again, love my Summer Fridays items so wanted to try this cleanser out too.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo: If you follow me on instagram, you know I’ve been using this quarantine time to train my hair. I have been washing my hair daily for many many years now but I want to be one of those girls who only washes their hair 1-2 times a week. I received so many recommendations from you guys on insta for dry shampoos. Many of them were drugstore brands, but one of the recommendations was for this higher end Living Proof Dry Shampoo so I figured I’ll snag it during the sale to try out.

I’d love to know what you are shopping for or what’s on your wishlist! Let me know in the comments below or DM me on insta!
