One of our quarantine projects that we tackled at the beginning of COVID-19 craziness was finally putting together a guest bedroom! It makes no sense because we haven’t been able to host any guests due to COVID but hopefully the room will get more use in the future.
Truth be told though, this guestroom cost us $0 and required very little effort because it’s actually the setup that we had in our master bedroom. We bought ourselves a king bed and transferred our queen bed (along with everything else) to the guest room.

I’m a sucker for a clean, minimal, white room. However, I really wanted at least a tiny bit of color in the room to add some interest + pizzazz. Plus, during the summertime I went through a phase where I loved blue floral patterns.
I added the bench into the room so guests would have a place to put any belongings of theirs. There’s empty hangers in the closet for them to hang some clothes, but it’s also nice to have a chair, dresser, or (in my case) a bench to place items.
I also like adding a tray to the bench to hold items that might not be able to stand on upholstered furniture, like a bottle of water + a candle.
There was only room for one night stand, so I kept it pretty clean of any decorative items so there will be more space for the guest to place any items of their own. However, I did add a little bell that was a souvenir my parents brought us from their travels to Belarus. I figured a guest might find this useful to ring either myself or my husband if they ever needed anything. I also figured it might be a funny touch LOL. The small bowl can be used to hold any of their jewelry or watches as they are sleeping, or a little sweet midnight snack.
I know the walls of this bedroom are a little boring + could use some spice. However, we’d love to turn this room into a nursery one day so it makes no sense decorating them now + then redecorating again when we are ready to have kids.
