At the end of February, Charming and I went on a fun little trip to Iceland!
We booked this trip back in November and COULD. NOT. WAIT!
I thought I’d share a little recap of our touristy photos from this trip.
My travel outfit.
The flight was only 6 hours to Iceland, however we ended up spending 8 hours in the airport due to a delayed flight.
I chose this particular look because I wanted to be comfortable, but also look sleek. Plus, we were landing in Iceland during the day so I also wanted an outfit that I can comfortably explore in as soon as we landed.
We stayed at Hotel Plaza in the middle of Reykjavik.
Our first stop was for FOOD! I wish I could remember the name of this spot because it was delish!
The northern lights! My gosh was it a cold night! But it was definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity and SO worth it!
It was pretty cloudy the evening we went to see the northern lights, but luckily we caught a good glimpse!
We got back from the northern lights around midnight and were starving! So we got some street food across the street from our hotel at Hollabatar.
A cup of caffeine from the balcony of our hotel room.
The Blue Lagoon was INCREDIBLE! As I’m sure you could’ve assumed!
The resort there is absolutely beautiful and so sleek!
I was that not-so-smart female who did a full face of makeup and curled her hair for the Blue Lagoon (I know, feel free to roll your eyes at me). For some reason, I thought that my curls wouldn’t fall out in the humidity of the Blue Lagoon.
I know we were in Iceland, but Cafe Paris was such an amazing lunch spot in Reykjavik!
This is a traditional Icelandic “Flatkaka” at the Sweet Pig Gastropub. It’s basically a flat bread with Arctic char, cream cheese, dill, and lemon oil.
Mini Icelandic Traditional Pastry “Kleinur”.
Gullfoss Waterfall
My husband is scuba certified and went scuba diving between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
We went to Loftid for brunch on our last day. It definitely ended our trip on a delicious note!
This avocado toast with smoked char and poached egg was BEYOND!
The weather varied from 30-40 degrees when we were there. However, there were such high winds that it felt much colder!
Before this trip, I was one of those girls who hated cold weather destinations. However, Iceland is definitely one of those countries that I’d recommend visiting at least once in your lifetime.
I hope you enjoyed this recap of our trip to Iceland.
