May Tablescape: Peonies + Brunch (Including a Delicious Menu!)

I love a good dinner party, and I especially love hosting one!

Although it can certainly be stressful at times, I love knowing that people are coming over to relax and enjoy the company of others in your home. Plus it’s so fun for me to think of the menu and decor and put my creative juices to work!

This is why I am introducing a new series to Love Everything Lovely: a monthly tablescape!

For this month’s tablescape, I am featuring peonies because it is finally peony season! I wait for this all year long! Haha. They are my faveee!

This centerpiece was super easy to put together and cost me less than $15!

I found the peonies at my local Trader Joe’s for roughly $8 and the greenery was from a local produce store for $4.

How to Create this Centerpiece for Under $15

First I laid out the greenery on the table. I love how the palm-like greens bring a warm summer vibe.

If you can’t find palm-like greenery, you can also use other bouquet fillers or eucalyptus.

Then, I cut the flower heads off their stems so that they can be placed on the table and face up, rather than laying on their sides with a stem.

I mixed a few peonies with some roses and ranunculus flower heads.

And done! Suuuper simple and easy!

I did a similar centerpiece back at my Thanksgiving dinner party as well and loved that this centerpiece requires little effort! Especially since you’re probably more worried about making sure the menu items get cooked on time and taste delish!

Speaking of menu items… I thought I’d also include what kind of menu I had at his Peony Brunch. I don’t think I will be doing this for every monthly tablescape, but this month ya’ll are lucky because I just hosted this brunch for Mother’s Day and was personally obsessed with what I put together.

Brunch Menu Ideas

WAFFLE BAR

Super easy and pretty basic, but so delish!  I also added some berries on the side for toppings and a Raspberry Maple Syrup from Natasha’s Kitchen

FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE

Ok, this was a hit! It was my first time making it and it will definitely be making another appearance in our home. This recipe is from Lil Luna, but I used Challah Bread instead and baked it immediately instead of leaving it overnight.

SWEETHEART CINNAMON ROLLS

I used the Pillsbury Grand cinnamon rolls that you can find at almost any grocery store. Then I just unrolled them from their circle shape and re-rolled them into a heart shaped cinnamon roll.

CROISSANTS

I mean, what breakfast doesn’t have croissants?! They’re basically a must in my opinion.  I purchased the bagged frozen croissants from Trader Joe’s and simply placed them in the oven for 30 mins.

BREAKFAST POTATOES + CHEESY CHICKEN FRITTERS

Just in case my guests didn’t want a sweet brunch meal, I decided to make something a bit savory. These Breakfast Potatoes and Cheesy Chicken Fritters recipes came from Natasha’s Kitchen as well.

MACARONS

These were a purchase from Trader Joe’s freezer section as well.

My guests also brought over a little raisin cake and pilaf, but I do not have a recipe link for those.
