Looking on the Bright (But Cold) Side

I’m going to regret staying up when my alarm rings at 5:30am, but I just have a strong desire to blog. Why? I can’t explain it. I just feel like doing this. I genuinely miss it. It’s been a crazy several weeks of school, work, wedding planning (Yep, you read that right, I’m engaged! But more on that in a later blog post…), etc.

A friend of mine shot these photos several weeks ago. The entire purpose was to show you how to take a summer outfit and incorporate it into the cooler weather. However, I feel like turning this post into something else…

As you scroll down, you can still see how the whole idea goes with simply swapping accessories (such as shoes and adding a vest). But I feel inspired to share something else throughout this post…

I dislike fall. And winter. Cold weather in general actually. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit negative about the decline in temperature. Therefore, I thought I’d take a moment to list a few things that I am looking forward to during this cold season. Hopefully I can inspire at least one of you to also look on the bright side and maybe even get some ideas from my list.

♥ Hot Lattes…

Without the sweat!

I’ve always preferred hot lattes (or coffee drinks in general) over cold ones. However, it’s just not always possible when the weather is hotter than your drink.

♥ Getting nice & cozy.

I guess this is the season where it doesn’t sound weird wanting to cuddle under 5 layers of blankets. I like to do this all year long, but I’m looking forward to it being a socially acceptable thing I can now do.

♥ End of the semester.

I’d say this fall semester has been the toughest semester of them all so far. It’s all serious finance classes that are crazy rigorous and require more time than I’m used to allocating to my classes. Plus, it’s a semester with all the classes that determine whether or not I graduate in May of next year. So I better get through this semester. I’m also looking forward to January. It’s my last semester and, should everything go well this semester, I only have to take two courses (Woot! Woot!).

♥ Wedding planning.

We’re taking our engagement photos in the next couple weeks and I’m just really stoked about the plans we have. Plus, I hope to finalize majority of the wedding details during this cold season, especially during the break between the two semesters.

♥ Playing with makeup some more.

Last week I realized that I basically do the same thing with my eyeshadow, like every time. So I now plan to venture out a bit and try to go outside my comfort zone a bit. I’d love to get more comfortable with purple eyeshadows and eyeliner. I’d say those are my weaknesses. Whenever I do purple eyeshadow, it makes me look like I just got punched in the eye. And don’t get me started on eyeliner. I don’t even know what I can compare the unevenness and variety of thickness I create when I use eyeliner.

I must admit: After writing the first bullet, I got a little stuck trying to list other things I’m looking forward to this cold season. But then the love started flowing and I realized it’s going to be an exciting season ahead!

I’ve babbled enough, I’d love to hear (or, in this case, read) you babbling. Let me know what you’re looking forward to this colder season!

Wishing you a season of happiness while freezing your booty off! 😉
