In honor of yesterday being National Lipstick Day (I know I’m a little late onto the bandwagon), I thought I would share two of my very favorite lipsticks.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen this photo.
The YSL Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant lipstick in #9 Caress Pink is what I like to call my signature lip. It’s a beautiful raspberry pink that you will find me wearing 90% of the time.
Side note: I always see raspberries as red, never any shade of pink. So then why it is a thing to compare colors to raspberry pinks?
The YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick lipstick in #47 Beige Blouse is a beautiful nude-y pink color.
You’ve probably already come to this conclusion, but the Oil-in-Stick lipstick is a bit more moisturizing on the lips than the Radiant version of the Rouge Volupte lipsticks. However, the Radiant version is still not drying on the lips at all. Both provide such gorgeous and rich application. As for the longevity of the lipsticks, I’ve literally gone through a 9-hour work day without reapplication and my lips still had a nice touch of color on them. Granted, it was a bit worn off. However, it wasn’t patchy or blotchy in any way!
To top it off, how beautiful is the packaging?!
However, my mild case of OCD does get the best of me when having the two lipsticks side-by-side. The Radiant lipstick is all gold – the tube, the cap, and the YSL writing in the middle.
As for the Oil-in-Stick version, the fact that the YSL writing in the middle is silver while the rest of the tube is gold is a bit of an issue…
I would love to hear what lipsticks you are loving! Feel free to share in the comments below!
