I loooove a good skincare routine, and I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve perfected my skincare routine (read about my skincare routine here). Because I’m already obsessed with my skincare routine, I always hesitate to try to skincare products because 1) I don’t feel the need to, and 2) I’m afraid my skin will react badly and I’ll lose all the good skin I’ve been working towards.
But I am sooo glad I gave these few products a chance and added them to my skincare routine because they’ve only amped up my complexion.
Whenever I’m doing a face mask, 80% of the time I reach for the Summer Friday’s R+R mask because I love it soooo much! I also hate that I reach for this one because it’s $52, which is pretty pricey for a face mask, so I definitely don’t want to use it up too fast haha. This face mask feels so luxurious and literally my face feels so moisturized afterwards. It’s a little bit on the oilier side honestly, but my skin has been on the drier end of the scale lately so I definitely don’t mind any extra oils. Sometimes I don’t even wash the face mask off. Instead, I’ll just wipe it off with a dry washcloth, and leave the oil on my face overnight for that extra bit of hydration.
Ingredients to Note:
Rose Powder – Helps to take off dead skin cells and renew themselves.
A mix of oils (Argan, Safflower, Sesame, Avocado, & Grapeseed oil) – Rich it fatty acids, reduce dark spots, and are anti-inflammatory.
I rotate the Sunday Riley CEO Glow with my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum every other day and love it so much. Don’t ask me which one I love more though because I love both pretty equally.
I’ve been trying to add more vitamin C into my routine since I learned that it helps with aging, dullness, dark spots, redness, and wrinkles and I literally see the improvements after wearing this product. My skin definitely looks more bright and refreshed in the mornings after wearing it all night.
Ingredients to Note:
Ginger – Evens out skin tone and helps with sensitivity.
Red Raspberry – Alleviates dehydration and boosts radiance with it’s Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids.
Vitamin C – Helps fight aging, dullness, dark spots, redness, and wrinkles.
Cranberry Seed Oil – Rich in Vitamin A, C, and E.
Evening Primrose – Helps to replenish moisture in your skin.
Pomegranate Seed Oil – Rich in an antioxidant that helps to protect your skin.
Golden Turmeric – A very calming ingredient that helps with redness and keeping an even skin tone.
Jojoba Oil – Seals the skin with a protective barrier to keep the skin moisturized, soft, and supple.
Going off of my Sunday Riley CEO Glow product, I wanted a vitamin C product that I can also use during the day under my day cream. So when I was sent this Tatcha Vitamin C serum, I was so excited! It is less oily and lighter than the Sunday Riley one so it was perfect for day time! I love to use this Tatcha serum to keep the vitamin C soaking into my skin throughout the day and keeping my skin bright.
Ingredients to Note:
Vitamin C + Japanese Beautyberry – The Japanese Beautyberry helps to stabilize the vitamin C so that the product is even more effective in fighting premature aging, support cell turnover and improve moisture in your skin.
Japanese Angelica Root – Helps reduce dark spots, discoloration, and acne scarring.
So essences use to be big in the beauty industry, then I feel like they started to die down again. I remember I used to use an essence by a different brand and never ended up repurchasing after I used it up because I never really noticed a big enough difference to make it feel like it was worth the extra step in my daily skincare routine. However, after trying the Tatcha Essence, I feel totally compelled to go and repurchase this product after I am done with this bottle. I love to sprinkle a bit of this essence onto my clean palms and apply it to my face in tapping motions after I get out of the shower. I particularly like to use it after a shower because I love smokin’ hot showers and use this on my face when my facial pores have been opened up by the steamy shower. This way, the essence can penetrate into my pores better, clean them, and apply some good vitamins into my pores. Essentially, an essence helps to prepare the skin so that your other skincare products that you’re about to apply on top penetrate the skin better and therefore you get the maximum benefit from your skincare items.
Ingredients to Note:
Uji Green Tea – Rich in antioxidants to help detoxify your skin.
Okinawa Mozuku Algae – A treasure from Japan’s tropical islands that helps your skin with water retention and renewal.
Akita Rice – Rich in proteins and helps to nourish and moisturize skin.
TATCHA BONUS: Did you know that every Tatcha purchase you make supports girls’ education around the world?! Tatcha is proud to partner with Room to Read to transform girls’ futures.
I’m so happy that I discovered these additional four products and, even though they might be an extra step in my routine, I’m always excited to used them because I can literally see the difference they have made in my skin. I’m also all about using as many products as I can to delay the aging process. I know there’s no way to avoid aging, but I want to make sure I take every step I can right now to delay it instead of regretting it later on. I think the fact that I will be turning 25 years old in roughly a month is kind of traumatizing me haha so I’m getting more serious than ever about anti-aging skincare.
I hope you found this post helpful and feel inspired to take better care of your skin. Even if you don’t purchase any of the products I mentioned, I hope you at least wash your face every morning and evening and definitely avoid sleeping with makeup on! Also, pat your skin dry! You don’t want to have premature wrinkles from stretching and tugging at your skin when wiping it.
